Today I had one of the most unusual experiences I’ve ever had with a person whom I was considering making a multi-thousand dollar purchase from. Before I went to this place I read the following quote on their website concerning rent to own which I am going to copy/paste here. “Early Purchase Option – You can pay your building off at anytime! It will never be more than the original cash price of the building.” This is under the “Rent to Own” tab. See for yourself on their website. So I said to the girl, “this means that your rent to own option is interest free, correct?” “The payoff will never be more than the original cash price, that’s what your website says.” She said, “No the website does not say that and in fact the rent to own option includes a high interest rate loan.” I said, “well, I am not interested in that option because I never pay interest, not even on my credit cards.” To that she openly laughed in my face. I said “I have several credit cards that give me zero percent interest on purchases for certain amounts of time according to how much I spend.” She said there is no such a thing. I asked if she thought I was a liar and she said that she doesn’t believe anything I say. I told her that I wouldn’t be able to do business with someone who calls me a liar. She jumped up from her desk and hurried to the door and asked me to leave. Apparently she doesn’t have an Amazon card, a Care Credit card, a Best Buy card, a Guitar Center card or an HH Gregg card. All cards that I have which offer me zero percent interest on purchases if paid off by a certain number of months, according to the amount spent. This person doesn’t have a clue about customer service, how to talk to a customer and doesn’t seem to care if she sells anything or not. I was blown away by her demeanor and can’t see any way that this place will be in business for very long under her direction. Other local shed dealers I went to afterwards told me that they have heard other weird customer service stories about Outdoor Options and the girl who works there. I cannot recommend this place. I like to spend my money with people who act like they want my business.
