The Allman Brothers Band formed in March 1969 when Duane Allman was offered a recording contract by a local record company, Capricorn Records. The group grew to include brothers Gregg, as well as Dickey Betts, Butch Trucks, and Jaimoe. After signing with Capricorn Records, the band moved to Macon. They then moved into a Tudor-style house on Vineville Avenue. It became the band’s headquarters and a recording hotbed for the 1970s.
